Our Story

Papa's Apothecary is named after Kevin's late grandfather — a man full of life, humor, and an unmistakable zest for living. He wasn't an herbalist. He wasn't into natural remedies. But he was the kind of person who made you want to be better, do more, and find work that actually meant something.

When Kevin lost him, it changed things. Papa's health decline had quietly sparked a curiosity in Kevin about what plant-based medicine could do — and his grandfather's life had made it clear that following a paycheck wasn't the same as following a purpose.

So Kevin left corporate America. He had served as a U.S. Marine, he knew how to commit to something hard. He enrolled at Bastyr University — one of the world's leading natural medicine schools — and earned a Bachelor of Science in Herbal Sciences. A degree dedicated to understanding plants, formulation, and the science of natural medicine. He studied how botanicals interact with the body, how to source clean ingredients, and how to build formulas that actually work. Then he started making products he could truly stand behind.

His wife Dawn — a Registered Nurse with a BSN from the University of Washington who has also earned her Master's degree — brought her own expertise to every formula. She reviews each product for safety and efficacy. It's a partnership built in every sense of the word.

Papa's Apothecary started at local farmers markets in 2017, earning trust one bottle at a time. Everything is still made in small batches, by hand, in the Pacific Northwest. No fillers. No synthetic fragrances. No shortcuts.
