ABOUT THE BRAND

What is Papa's Apothecary? Papa's Apothecary is a small-batch botanical skincare and wellness company founded in 2017 by Kevin and Dawn Gilbert on Camano Island, Washington. Every product is formulated by Kevin, a Herbalist with a Bachelor of Science in Herbal Sciences from Bastyr University, and reviewed by Dawn, a Registered Nurse. We make products that are honest, plant-based, and designed for real results.

Who is "Papa"? Papa is Kevin's late grandfather — a man full of life, humor, and an unmistakable zest for living. His passing inspired Kevin to leave corporate America, pursue his degree in Herbal Sciences, and build a company dedicated to products worth trusting. Every product we make is a tribute to him.

What makes Papa's Apothecary different from other natural skincare brands? Most natural skincare brands are founded by entrepreneurs. Ours was founded by a credentialed Herbalist with a Bachelor of Science from Bastyr University — one of the world's leading natural medicine schools — and reviewed by a Registered Nurse. Every ingredient is chosen intentionally based on how it actually interacts with the body. Nothing is included that doesn't earn its place.

Where are your products made? All products are made in small batches by hand in the Pacific Northwest. We never mass produce. Every batch is crafted with care and quality-checked before it ships.


ABOUT THE PRODUCTS

Are your products organic? We source from suppliers who follow organic and sustainable practices whenever possible. When organic options are available we select them, but not all ingredients are available in certified organic form so we do not market our products as certified organic. What we can guarantee is that every ingredient is carefully vetted for quality and purity.

How do you dilute essential oils in your products? We dilute to a 4%-6% ratio of essential oils to carrier — which is generally considered safe for most essential oils. Each essential oil we use has been individually vetted to ensure its dilution is appropriate, as some require more dilution than others.

Are your products safe for sensitive skin? Our formulas are plant-based and free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, and harsh chemicals. Many of our customers have sensitive or reactive skin and find our products gentle and effective. That said, everyone's skin is different — we always recommend doing a small patch test before full use, especially if you have known sensitivities.

Are your products safe to use during pregnancy? Some essential oils are not recommended during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or nursing, please consult your healthcare provider before using any essential oil-based products.

How long do your products last? All products should be stored in a cool place and used within 1 year of purchase. Because we use no synthetic preservatives, proper storage helps maintain freshness and efficacy.

How much product should I use? Our formulas are concentrated and small-batch — a little goes a long way. For face oils, 3-4 drops is all you need. For toners, a few spritzes on clean skin. Start with less and adjust as needed.

What order should I apply my skincare products? For best results: cleanse first, toner second, face oil or night balm last. This layering method locks in hydration and lets each product do its job effectively.

What is your return policy? We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If a product doesn't work for your skin, contact us at papa@papasapothecary.com and we'll make it right — no hassle.

How long does shipping take? Orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days and shipped via USPS. Delivery times vary by location but most domestic orders arrive within 3-7 business days after shipping.

Do you offer free shipping? Yes — free shipping on all orders over $125.

Do you ship internationally? Currently we ship within the United States only.
